Our Founder & Executive Director: John Blevins
After working for twenty-five years building wastewater and water treatment plants in America, John Blevins traveled to Africa to test the drinking water. That summer he tested multiple sources of drinking water in Kenya and Tanzania, all confirming the statistics he had seen. Every test proved positive for bacteria; bacteria that cause not only chronic stomach problems, but also could carry deadly diseases like cholera and typhoid. Burdened by what he had seen, John returned home, retired from his job, and founded Sweetwater Outreach, a 501(c)3 nonprofit. John is Sweetwater Outreach’s man on the ground and Executive Director of all field operations.
